Thomas Gainey

Coach Gainey was born and raised in Bethune, SC, until he joined the Air Force in 2001. 

After 15 years of service in both active duty and national guard, he was medically retired after sustaining an injury while overseas. 

During his time in service, he obtained both his BA in Religion and his Masters in Business Management and Leadership from Liberty University Online. 

After a brief period in Government and Private sector business, he followed what he felt was God's calling for him into the Coaching and Teaching profession. 

He started his career at his Alma Mater, Lee Academy, as a social studies teacher and Coach. 

There he was able to Coach not only football, but also softball and basketball. 

During his time at Lee Academy, he won region in football 4 out of the 5 years there, played for the State Championship in 2020 and 2021 and they won the SCISA 1A State Championship in 2022. 

His favorite Bible verse is Psalms 116:15.
